Safety and Community on Tutulist

Tutulist is centered around connecting dancers through dancewear, and creating an outlet to make it easier than ever to dance your style. We want everyone on Tutulist to feel safe and comfortable expressing themselves and exploring the latest trends.

What is abuse, bullying or harassment?

If someone is using Tutulist to embarrass, humiliate, hurt or threaten another person, that’s abuse. This includes behavior like:

  • Sending rude, aggressive or nasty comments and messages.
  • Harmful language - unwelcome comments on someone’s race, gender, sexuality, religion, body weight, disability, shape or size - or any other aspect of someone’s identity.

Harassment is when someone acts in a way that makes another person feel threatened or intimidated. This includes:

  • Using sexualized language, or sexually inappropriate behavior. We have zero tolerance for this kind of predatory behavior and take it very seriously.
  • Sending repeated, unwanted messages or comments - especially after the receiver has asked the sender to stop.
  • Encouraging, inciting or endorsing violence.
  • Threatening to release personal info like names, addresses and photos
  • Threatening to go to another person’s address over an argument - even an implied threat.
  • Encouraging others to bully, harass or threaten another person.

What is hate speech and discrimination?

We’re proud to be building a community of diverse people and we have a zero tolerance policy for hate speech or discrimination. That means we won’t let anyone on the Tutulist platform use abusive, threatening or harmful language about any aspect of a person’s identity - like race, religion, sexuality, gender identity, nationality or disability. Hate speech includes:

  • Using racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic or antisemitic language.
  • Using hateful symbols - like the ‘OK’ sign, or Pepe the Frog.
  • Encouraging, inciting or supporting violence or harm.
  • Refusing to buy or sell from someone because of who they are.
  • Supporting or endorsing hate or terrorist groups.

What do you do if you experience or witness hateful or harmful behavior?

We’ve got your back, and if it’s making you uncomfortable, we want you to tell us about it. You can report issues through our Contact Us form or email hello@tutulist.com

Stay on the Tutulist Platform

It’s super important that you complete all activities associated with buying, selling and messaging within the platform. Never meet someone from Tutulist in person, for any reason. Don’t share personal information, like your phone number, address or email address. And always keep conversations with buyers or sellers within the Tutulist site- if you move onto another platform, like into your Instagram DMs, we won’t be able to help you if things go wrong.

Always Use our Payment Processing

The checkout process on Tutulist is what protects you if things go wrong. This means we can get your money back if:

  • Items aren’t as described.
  • Items don’t arrive.
  • Part of your order doesn’t arrive.

If you don’t use our payment system we can’t protect you. So keep it simple - keep it on Tutulist.

What should I do if someone asks me to take a transaction offline?

Purchasing or selling an item listed on Tutulist using any means other than Tutulist checkout is against our terms and conditions thus prohibited.

If the item is not purchased and handled fully through Tutulist, we cannot guarantee the transaction. When it is off the platform, we have no way to know that the buyer and seller will complete the transaction as promised. If we don't process the payment, we are not able to refund the buyer if something goes wrong. For example, if the seller never ships your order or the order you receive is not as described in the listing, our Tutulist Protection Policy will be void and we will not be able to offer a proper solution. Members who take transactions offline may have their future buying and selling privileges restricted on Tutulist. If you are approached to take a transaction offline, please contact Tutulist Support immediately.

Protect your account

To keep your account safe, make sure that you use a strong password, keep an eye out for suspicious emails and set up two-factor authentication. Strong passwords are long, random, and contain numbers and special characters. We will never email you to ask for your password. We will also never request personal or payment information outside of the Tutulist platform.
